Two versions of NVivo are currently available to current IUP students and faculty members by following the download instructions listed below. There is a 64-bit version available for NVivo. To determine your system type, right-click onComputer,then chooseProperties.Look for system type and you will see 32-bit or 64-bit operating system. You will be prompted for your username and network password when downloading the software.

  1. Click on one of the download links below, selectSave.
  2. Once the download is complete, open file NVivo-32bit.zip.
  3. A new folder called NVivo-32bit or NVivo-64bit will be created after it is unzipped. Open the folder and double-click NVivo.exe to begin the installation.
  4. When prompted for the license key, open the file called license.txt in the NVivo folder, and enter that as the key.

There is only one version of NVivo for Mac OS. To make sure that your Mac meets the system requirements, click on the Apple symbol in the top left corner of the desktop. From there, click on About This Mac. This will bring you to the overview tab for the machine. Check between the System Requirements above and the overview on your Mac to be sure it will run NVivo.

Windows/Mac: Most web browsers support HTML5 and will allow you to use the light version of Citrix, which doesn’t require the installation of additional software.   1. Open your web browser and browse to the college Citrix website.
  2. Enter your CSU eName and ePassword and log on.
  3. If your browser supports it, you’ll have the option to “Use light version”, which doesn’t require the Citrix Workspace software.
  4. If you aren’t prompted to choose and instead are taken straight to the Citrix StoreFront page, you can change to the light version by clicking your name at the top right and “Change Citrix Receiver”.
  5. Launch Citrix by clicking on the available desktop icon.

Connecting Through Citrix Workspace (Windows/Mac/Android/iOS)

  1. If you don’t already have the Citrix Receiver installed, download and install the software:
    • Windows/Mac: Download the Citrix Receiver
    • iOS: App Store (search for Citrix Workspace)
    • Android: Google Play (search for Citrix Workspace)
  2. After installing the software, either click “Add account” or launch the Citrix Workspace software.
  3. When prompted to provide a server address, enter https://citrix.chhs.colostate.edu.
  4. When prompted for a user name and password, enter colostateename (replace eName with your eName) for the user name and your eID password for the password.
    • You may be prompted twice.
  5. Launch your desktop
    • Windows/Mac: Launch your desktop by clicking on the available desktop icon.
    • Android/iOS:
      • Press the three bars at the top left next to “Apps”
      • Press “Desktops”
