Virtualbox For Xp 32 Bit

So i installed VirtualBox and a iso of windows xp pro 32bit. It all went well up to the point where i have to activate it. I searched around a bit but most people already got it installed, but i get the activation thingy during the installation. I run XP 32-bit under 6.0.14 and 6.1.10 (soon to be 6.1.12) just fine. There is another issue you might run into if you run 3D acceleration in XP. 3D acceleration had a security hole big enough to drive an Australian road train through. So in 6.1.x they changed 3D to plug the hole, but 3D is now only available in Windows 7 and later. Oracle VM VirtualBox Base Packages - 6.1.26. Freely available for Windows, Mac OS X, Linux and Solaris x86 platforms under GPLv2: Platform. Windows Installer. Solaris 10 5/08 and later or Solaris 11. To explicitly extract the Windows Guest Additions for another platform than the current running one, such as 64-bit files on a 32-bit system, you must use the appropriate platform installer. Use VBoxWindowsAdditions-x86.exe or VBoxWindowsAdditions-amd64.exe with the /extract parameter.

Hi, I have a similar problem with USB Hard disks connected to the host. Version: VirtualBox-3.0.2-49928-Win.exe Host: Windows XP 32bit Guest: Fedora 11 32bit When I have my USB hard disk connected (Seagate ST912082 2A) and try to start Virtualbox, I get a popup: Failed to create the VirtualBox COM object. The application will now terminate.

Note

VirtualBox needs several kernel drivers installed and needs to start several services: if the drivers and services are not already installed you'll need administrator rights to run Portable-VirtualBox.

When Portable-VirtualBox starts, it checks to see if the drivers are installed. If they are not it will install them before running VirtualBox and will remove them afterward. Similarly, Portable-VirtualBox checks to see if the services are running. If not, it will start them and then stop them when it exits.

If you want to save space you can remove the language files for other languages than your own. That can save you nearly 10 MB. They are in the nls directory.

You can also delete the documentation saving nearly 5 MB. You will find it in the doc directory.

When the VM is running you must press the 'Host-Key' (initially configured as the right CTRL-Key) to be able to use the other Hotkeys since otherwise the VM will have the focus.
